As Northwest was preparing to receive its first Boeing 747s, the company's entire corporate identity received a complete makeover - from logo and aircraft paint scheme to literature, ticket offices and gate holdrooms. Uniforms as well would see a fresh look at the end of 1969. As part of the design review process, several uniform concepts were sketched - and we are proud to be able to offer new clothing pieces inspired by that work.
Light, airy, and effortlessly cool — this cropped tank brings relaxed energy to everyday wear. Soft combed ring-spun cotton blended with polyester gives the fabric a smooth, featherlight hand that drapes gently over the body. The raw sleeve edges and relaxed silhouette create a casually undone look that pairs easily with high-waisted jeans, boardshorts, or layered under an open shirt. The 1970-80s-era Northwest Orient logo and wordmark appears on the front, with a hidden 727 lifting off for you above the neck label. Wear it to a summer hike, sunset beach walk, or any day you want comfort with a breeze of nostalgia. Printed at the time of your order and sent directly to your address, each purchase helps support the mission of the Northwest Airlines History Center!
