Northwest Orient was the launch customer for the DC-10 Series 40, an intercontinental widebody that bridged the capacity and range of NWA's jumbo Boeing 747 and its domestic workhorse Boeing 727. The DC-10 ranged across Northwest's entire network, from Asia to Florida, Hawaii to Europe, and key shorter-haul routes in between as well. While NWA's DC-10 fleet was never as large as United or American's, we would fly the type longer than any other major passenger carrier, finally retiring the type in January 2007.
The -40 received its type authorization in September 1972, and we are proud to add our merchandise tribute to the type on its 50th anniversary! Can you find the subtle "watermark" in the design that proves its NWAHC authenticity? And we take advantage of the shape of the pouch to add a completely different tribute photo on the back side. These flat yet capacious zipper pouches make excellent pencil cases; grab-and-go storage for your earbuds, charging cables, and SD cards; and cosmetic travel bags. They are constructed from a durable fabric material with a metal zipper closure.
This print-on-demand item will be sent directly from the production facility in the USA to you - and your purchases help the NWAHC continue to tell the stories of our great family of airlines!
